With Personal Data Collection on the Rise, Learn How to Back Out of Big Tech

Updated: Jun 27

While you have been growing comfortable to the convenience that some Google products provide for what you thought was free, that access actually comes at a cost, because the data being collected on you is being used to build a digital profile on you and market to you. While the extent to which this data is being used to erode your privacy is yet to be seen. A.I. (artificial Intelligence) has brought another level of data collection to our lives just recently and we recommend you do what you can to minimize its impact on you.

For starters you can find alternatives to the Google based software/apps that you currently use. The alternatives may not be free to use, but many of them are and will not be as invasive to your private information.

For a list of products that would be replacements for search engines, email, calendars, cloud storage, app stores, mapping directions, video platforms, operating systems, etc. see document with hyperlinks below.

For those who want to take it a step further and replace your Microsoft or Apple computing systems, We have some additional documents with information below. Some info is self guided options and some offer instructional classes and tech support to guide you through the transition. But this is a good reference to get you started.

Something else you will want to consider is to get a cell phone that is less invasive of your privacy. If you want your phone to stop listening to your conversations and stop tracking you, then you will want to look into alternatives for a DeGoogled phone, operating system and cell phone service.

Try not to be overwhelmed. Take in just a little information at a time and change one thing at a time. If you want to stay out of the control grid that is being built to monitor, track and trace, your every move, do as much as you can to build that buffer.
