Hyper-scale Data Center Development Issue is Still in Play

We see a broad spectrum of our community coming together to address concerns about the proposed Data Center in Jefferson County. While there are many different viewpoints, the prevailing theme is that we are not getting the full story from the developer, the utility companies or our government. And the voices speaking at these meetings are people not speaking in favor of the project, so that should be an indicator of consensus.
The most recent hurdle was specifically to address utility costs for ratepayers.

2025-00045, LG&E & KU - Public Comments Meeting
Then there was a community meeting organized by Louisville Metro Watchdog Alliance and 3 presenters were there to offer information to the community. We thank them for that opportunity. You can watch coverage of that meeting at the link below.
As is stated in the video and is outlined in the slides below there will be another hearing that will take several days starting August 4th in Frankfort. And as of our understanding there are no other committees that need to address this development for approval, so it is important that we comment and address as many people as possible to express your concerns.

The White House has also released an extensive ACTION PLAN with the intent to win the AI Race. You should have this information as the larger context for how this is affecting us locally.
